the heart behind it
I want to capture the real, wholesome and raw. I want your photography session--whether it's your engagements, wedding, lifestyle portraits, senior portraits, or birth session to be more of an experience and less of a check off your list of to-dos.
Life moves quickly. I want our photo session to slow things down, to focus on the in-between, the gritty, the special little moments that make you feel something big.
If you want a slow and purposeful session.
If you don't want to get posed in stiff and awkward ways.
If you want space to be yourself.
Then we will be a perfect fit.
My name is Anna Claire (yup, double first name!) and I am a 21-year-old photographer based out of Lubbock, TX. I love the outdoors and worked for almost three years as a student trip leader at a local outdoor program, taking college students on adventure trips and teaching classes at the local climbing wall.
Backpacking, caving, cycling, and being in the water are my favorite outdoor activities and my adorable pups, Mahwah and Camino, and fearless husband, Danny, are my three best buds and beloved travel companions.
While my first language is English, I also have a basic understanding of ASL and Spanish!
Though my interests seem to be a bit all over the place, the common denominator is simply this: I love stories. I've always loved telling stories through writing and photo. Photography gives me the incredibly special opportunity to be with people in tender moments of love, grief, joy, hope, and perseverance. It really is an honor.
I love to travel and have a passion for human right’s issues—which is what has led me to grad school in a cultural anthropology program! Upon graduation, I plan to go full-time with my portrait business and start making documentary films on the side.
For me, living adventurously is not some kind of fad. It’s a lifestyle—and adventurous moments aren’t just big hikes and gorgeous views; They exist in the spaces where we step out of our comfort zones.
My excitement is in the intimate moments that ground us and make us feel present. Sometimes you find it in a coyote howling as the sun rises over the desert. Sometimes it’s just PBR and friends ‘round a campfire. Other times it’s just holdin’ each other’s hands after you say “I do.”
No matter the location, that’s the space that gets me stoked.
